Paraffin Wax Foot Treatment
What is a paraffin wax foot treatment?
Paraffin wax is a soft, non-sticky, natural wax product derived from ancient plant and animal forms It’s properties means it is able to absorb and retain a significant amount of heat leading to therapeutic benefits.
A paraffin wax foot treatment is a therapeutic treatment whereby the foot is immersed into a pool of heated paraffin wax. Because paraffin wax has a low melting point, it is safe enough to apply directly to the foot without the risk of burns.

Paraffin wax foot treatments at Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics
Once our Melbourne podiatrists deem your feet suitable to paraffin wax therapy the following will take place during your 30 minute consult:
- Firstly, the paraffin wax socks are melted using the PerfectSense Paraffin System. This process takes approx. 10-15 minutes so it is usually performed prior to your appointment.
- At the consultation your feet initially will be massaged and hydrated using a moisturising cream.
- The now melted paraffin wax socks are applied and massaged into the feet.
- Fleece boots are applied to retain the heat and left for approximately 10 minutes.
- The paraffin draws the body’s own moisture to the surface of the skin for deep, natural hydration.
- The wax is removed like a slipper, sliding right of the foot.
- Your feet will feel hydrated and amazing, with the benefits of paraffin lasting up to 24 hrs.

We use the PerfectSense Paraffin System
The benefits of the ground breaking PerfectSense Paraffin Wax System over other traditional wax bath systems include:
MORE HYGIENIC – wax is applied directly to skin in single use pouches, eliminating the risk of cross-infection compared to traditional communal wax baths.
MORE BENEFITS – wax is applied directly to the skin in the pouches so you receive the full therapeutic heat benefits of the wax. Other communal systems may need to use glad wrap or other barriers over the feet for hygiene reasons before placing the feet into the wax.
NOURISHMENT + PARAFFIN BLEND – Not just any paraffin …. Nourishment+ is a unique, ultra premium, age-defying formula which blends apple stem cell, grape seed oil, white and green tea antioxidant extracts with vitamins A, C, and E for the most powerful heated moisturiser available.
NO POWER REQUIRED – The wax heats inside the chamber in a natural exothermic reaction to the saline AromaVapour solution without the need for corded power.
FASTER MELT TIMES – the paraffin wax melts within 10-15 minutes meaning we can usually perform this treatment with minor prior notification. Traditional systems often require 6-12 hours to melt the wax before use.
LESS MESS – when the socks are removed they slip right off without any wax residue or scraping required, making for fast clean up.

Yes. A general foot treatment, which includes nail cutting, callus, corn debridement and general foot maintenance is a 30 minute consultation. A paraffin wax foot treatment is also a duration of 30 minutes. Therefore you will need to book a one hour consultation for a general foot treatment and a paraffin wax foot treatment. Please let the reception staff know that you are booking for both services.
NB. If booking a one hour consultation you will need to call (03) 9882 5584 as this option is not available booking online.
Yes, provided you don’t have any contraindications to paraffin wax foot treatments (please read content above). We will also need to know that you have booked for a paraffin wax foot treatment so we have sufficient time to heat up the wax before your consultation. Remember this will be a 30 minute initial consultation and only a paraffin wax foot treatment will be performed. If you are also after a general foot treatment you will need to book a longer consultation (see question above).
If any contraindications are discovered during the initial assessment at your initial appointment then we may not be able to perform the paraffin wax foot treatment. If this is the case then you would still have to pay for the wax supplement. If you are unsure, then we always advise booking an initial appointment for assessment prior to booking a paraffin wax foot treatment.
