With Victoria’s vaccination rate now nearing 80% double dose, the Victorian government last week eased restrictions for Allied Health and podiatry, allowing resumption of routine care. This means we can operate unrestricted and can now resume seeing all clients from children to adults.

General Foot Care
If you have been delaying treatment for your feet then delay no longer. As the state finally opens up so do events like weddings and parties where your feet will be back on show. Christmas is also fast approaching and this period is our busiest time of year. With the recent restrictions we anticipate there will be many patients now wanting their feet treated so appointments are likely to be at a premium. Our advice is don’t leave it too late. Book your appointment this year and get your feet feeling great for the start of summer.
Children’s Feet
It’s been a tough year for children with home schooling but there is finally some good news for children and parents. Schools are now resuming and so are sporting activities. This can often be a cause of symptoms when children go from very little activity to high levels and this can be made worse if shoes and orthotics have not been checked for a while. So if you child is suffering symptoms or hasn’t seen one of our podiatrists for 6 months or more, now is the optimum time to be seen before activities resume at full pace.
Gait Analysis
Have your feet been letting you down during lockdown? Are you struggling to walk or run with symptoms? It could be your feet or your running shoes that are functioning poorly. Book a gait analysis with one our podiatrists and we will help diagnose the cause and then set you on a course to rectify the problem. Sometimes it’s as simple as purchasing the right running shoes. Now that retail and footwear shops are opening again it might be wise to book a gait analysis before you make that next shoe purchase.
Orthotics
Do you think you need orthotics or are you clinging too long to an old pair? Now is the time to get your feet and orthotics assessed. Just don’t delay as there is not much time left in the year. Our custom orthotic process is through and accurate so you need to allow adequate time for appointments including, biomechanical assessment, digital casting, issue and evaluation. Also it’s important to note that our orthotic laboratory closes from late December to mid January. The last week for pre-Christmas orders is usually the first or second week week of December so get cracking now if you want new orthotics.
