Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics wish to provide a safe environment for our patients and staff during the COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore the following policies apply for all patients:
1. If you are experiencing a fever, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath or flu-like symptoms we ask that you refrain from making an appointment. You should seek medical attention and get tested. For more information call the Victorian coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398.
2. If you have recently come into close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus we ask that you do not attend MPAO for 14 days. Please call the information hotline 1800 675 398 for advice and closely monitor your health.
3. If you are currently undergoing testing for coronavirus we ask that you do not attend MPAO. The department of health advises you to remain at home and self-isolate until you get results.
4. If you have recently travelled from overseas you cannot attend MPAO for 14 days. The government requires anyone arriving in Australia from overseas to self-isolate for 14 days. This applies to all travellers and Australian citizens.
In line with government rules the wearing of face masks is mandatory for all patients and visitors. We require patients to wear a surgical mask and not a cloth mask. You may be refused entry and treatment if you do not wear one. Exceptions include those who have a medical reason or children under 12 years of age.
Step 2 Restrictions - Victoria's COVID-19 Roadmap
Step 2 restrictions are now in place in Metropolitan Melbourne meaning our services are still slightly restricted. If you are in pain or your issue is affecting your mental health and you feel it will get worse without treatment then we strongly advise you to make an appointment. Remember DHHS recommendation is do not put off health care.
If your issue is non-urgent then you should strongly consider postponing your appointment until after the 19th October 2020.
Please call us on (03) 9882 5584 if any questions or unsure.
