Important Information for NDIS Patients
Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics is an Unregistered NDIS Provider
Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics is currently classified as an UNREGISTERED NDIS PROVIDER.
Unregistered NDIS providers can still provide services which are fully funded by the NDIS, like any registered provider, they just can’t claim their invoices with the NDIS directly.
Only NDIS participants who self-manage their plans or have a registered plan manager can access our services.

Self-managed NDIS Patients
Which services can patients access?
Self-managed NDIS patients at Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics can access all of our services, just like any private patient. Self-managed NDIS plans are the most convenient and enable the patient to receive the best, uninterrupted podiatry treatment from our team of friendly podiatrists.
What is the payment and claiming procedure?
A self-managed patient pays for their podiatry service in full at the time of consultation. They will then have to manually claim their funds back from the NDIS, using the NDIS portal.
How do I begin treatment?
To begin treatment with Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics self-managed NDIS particpants will need to:
Complete and sign our NDIS Self-managed Service Agreement. You can either bring a printed and signed copy to your first appointment or email the signed agreement to reception@mpao.com.au prior to your visit.
Once the agreement has been filled out and signed, book an initial appointment with one of our friendly podiatrists.
Plan-managed NDIS Patients
Which services can patients access?
Plan-managed patients at Melbourne Podiatrists & Orthotics can only access basic podiatry services including:
- General foot care -nail cutting, corn, callus removal
- General foot assessment, diagnosis and treatment advice
To access more advanced treatment and supports including:
- Gait analysis
- Custom orthotics
- Nail surgery
- Shockwave therapy
- Other podiatry services or products
We require prior financial approval and payment from your plan manager. If more advanced treatment is required the podiatrist will send the plan manager a detailed letter and quote outlining the treatment. Once this is approved and paid for in full by the plan manager, treatment can proceed.
What is the payment and claiming procedure?
For plan-managed patients we invoice the patient’s plan manager and they pay for the patient’s services.
All NDIS plan-managed plans require a third-party account to set up with us, prior to a patient accessing our services.
NB: Our consultation fees for NDIS participants are the same as for private patients. Due to recent reductions in the NDIS podiatry fee schedule, our fees may not always align with the NDIS price guide. If our fees exceed the guide, the participant will be responsible for any gap payment.
